Some things I’ve been learning include the idea of getting ready and optimally healthy before entering this time of major hormonal and whole being transition. Like in your 30’s. If not, it’s not too late.
Perimenopause can start in early to mid 40’s, and in some women even in their 30’s. You can have a shift in or around your cycle that doesn’t necessarily involve a shortening of cycles or a missed cycle. It can be mood changes, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, night sweats, bone changes, changes in cardiovascular markers like cholesterol, blood pressure and bone changes, fatigue, brain fog, insomnia and anxiety.
Perimenopause can last 6-10 years and menopause is when you haven’t had a menses for 12 consecutive months.
The microbiome can shift during menopause, causing more inflammation in the gut and brain, and thus all over the body. Diet can quickly shift the microbiome to be in a more healthy state.
Creating a fully wholistic plan of action, including a gut healing plan is key to supporting an optimal, healthy microbiome that promotes health and healing, instead of inflammation and disease. Testing with the GI map test and the Dutch sex hormone and adrenal panel can be very powerful tools for creating the best plan for you.

Many women and female bodied people want some type of ritual to honor the transition from motherhood(or possible motherhood) into being a crone or an elder. Our society does not honor elders, especially women, but in many cultures Elder women are sitting on decision making councils and are sought after for advice and wisdom. They hold political positions and they are seen as strong, not weak. There is the word pause in menopause and amongst the storminess of the changes during this major life transition, it is helpful to take time for meditation, prayer, baths, rituals, quiet, listening, either alone or amongst others in support groups, circles and lodges.
Let’s work together to create the best plan for you to shine and be beautiful during this time of life.
