Unlike a traditional sauna where the hot air temperature can make it difficult to breathe and to stay in for long periods of time, the air temperature of the Far Infrared Sauna is between 100 – 140 degrees Fahrenheit, making it more comfortable for most individuals. Typical treatment times are between 20 and 60 minutes.

Can be a great add-on after a massage or Craniosacral/Visceral manipulation session.

NOTE: Everyone, patients and the public using the sauna, must sign a consent form and agree not to use drugs or alcohol prior to sauna use. If you have a medical condition, you will need to be screened by a staff physician prior to your first sauna.

HOW TO TAKE A SAUNA

  • The use of drugs, medication or alcohol prior to or during your sauna session may lead to dizziness or unconsciousness and is strictly prohibited.
  • Before your sauna, hydrate with at least 16oz water, ideally with added electrolytes, or mineral tea to prepare your body for an increase in core temperature.
  • Unless otherwise indicated, your first sauna session should last no longer than 20 minutes. It is important to build up your sessions slowly as you discover how your body responds. Ideal sauna sessions last for 45-60 minutes. Only experienced sauna-goers should stay in for 1 full hour.
  • Always keep a towel between your skin/body and the sauna surfaces.
  • Always have water available during your sauna session.
  • Never sleep inside the sauna while it is on.
  • Do not use any scented products during your sauna.
  • Please respond immediately to any feelings of lightheadedness, dizziness, or discomfort by turning off the sauna, opening the door, and having a drink of water. We ask that you ring for a doctor or staff person for any assistance you may need during your sauna.
  • After your sauna, hydrate with at least 32oz water, ideally with added electrolytes or a mineral tea.
